Description

Being able to choose a custom directory for the database in Android App.

Impact

  • benefits users who want to use alternative sync methods, such as git repos, Syncthing and cloud services.
  • enables to have more than one database in android
  • easier physical backups
  • deleting the app poses a smaller risk to the user's data integrity.

Additional Context

  • if feature is implemented, a disclaimer should be included because of data loss and corruption risks when using non-official sync methods. Nevertheless, this could help expand sync options and users can contribute with testing.
