I wonder if we could do something like Expand table, and then allow for the outlines to be transparent (color selected by user), instead of a "new type of block"?

You're welcome to try, but actually this issue turned out be a little bit more complex than even we ourselves had expected.

We haven't delved deeply into the solution yet, only scraped the surface, but it is quite hard to make it behave as intended.

I would suggest to find another issue if you're looking for something a little bit easier or introductory level to our source code.
