Describe the bug
When initially set a date value, the current date is not auto selected. You have to click on the date to get Today selected.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Create a date column
Set a date value
don't do anything but click elsewhere
no date is selected

Expected behavior
If no action is performed on the date selector, today should be auto selected
