Bug Description

Got this error while trying to render this:

M \times X = Y \\ M \times M^{-1} \times X = Y

How to Reproduce

Make a math equation block with this input:

M \times X = Y \\ M \times M^{-1} \times X = Y

Expected Behavior

Should render or give a proper error instead of exception

Operating System

Linux
