Bug Description

Appflowy just showing a white screen and closes after a few seconds:

Image

So I was cleaning up my files and decided to move my appflowy folder from documents to a dedicated document data folder. While doing this I found several Appflowy folders so I decided to load each one of them to see if I can delete them. When I was satisfied, I then tried to find the original database folder (which I forgot which one it was on my desktop). 2 of the Appflowy Folders didn't have any data. However, when I tried to load in the database that I think has all the data, appflowy would bug out and only show as follows.

I forgot to screenshot so here's a recreation in paint:

I know that the app is trying something because when I hover over where the sidebar is the blue hover line to indicate I can resize the width would show up. And if I moved the folder to some other place and launched the app it would work as normal. Then after a few restarts of the app, the window would not show up at all. In task manager, I could see whenever I launched the app I would see it show up for a few seconds in background tasks and then disappear. I have tried everything bar a restart and I WILL DO ONE AS SOON AS I POST THIS ISSUE. I then proceeded to try and update appflowy (I was on 0.8.8. at the time if I'm not mistaken). After updating to 0.9.2, whenever I launch the app, it shows a window for a few seconds, then closes (maybe crashes). If I launch appflowy in another user's account it works fine. I kinda need a fix 'cause I kept a buncha passwords there and I was in the process of transferring them to a dedicated password manager.

How to Reproduce

Not really sure. Read above for the breakdown. I'm not sure I can share the db folder because of sensitive data contained within it.

Expected Behavior

Appflowy launches and runs like normal.

Operating System

Windows 11 24H2

AppFlowy Version(s)

0.8.8 & 0.9.2.

@Artemis1-0 are you using anonymous mode or cloud mode? please DO NOT delele or move your local data if you're using anonymous mode until we recover your data.

It's anonymous mode. I haven't really been able to troubleshoot appflowy cloud yet so I believe after some time I went back to anonymous mode. @LucasXu0

I've just logged into appflowy cloud. The reason I went back to anonymous was because not all of my pages had imported to cloud and so on. If worse comes to worst, I potentially could recover the data by looking at how the database is saved and use notepad++ to analyze the byte data.

I ran it as admin and managed to import the folder into that. It appears that most of the pages are corrupted as only 5 out of the 20 smth pages I had got imported.

I've managed to find a backup copy of the files. As far as I can tell I have recovered all data. I will close this issue in 24 hours because of the interesting db corruption that completely crashes appflowy but after that anyone interested will have to reach out personally. Cheers!
