Description

I'd love to see subtasks displayed automatically underneath the main task, with an expand/collapse arrow (like in Asana). This will:

Improve visual hierarchy and clarity.
Allow users to scan tasks and subtasks easily.
Make AppFlowy more user-friendly, especially in the "List" and "Board" views.

Impact

This feature would:

Reduce cognitive load and unnecessary clicks.
Improve project clarity for teams.
Align AppFlowy with modern task manager UX standards.

What types of users can benefit?

Project managers: who need a bird’s eye view of tasks and sub-tasks.
Remote teams: that require clarity in collaboration.
Personal productivity users: who prefer hierarchical task structures.

Additional Context

Asana and ClickUp provide excellent references for this behavior. Asana keeps the interface minimal and clean while displaying subtasks intuitively. A toggle UI element (arrow or chevron) is widely understood and expected by users. This would enhance AppFlowy’s competitive positioning against tools like Notion, which also lacks intuitive subtask display.
