Hello,
I would like to upgrade AppFlowy from 0.6.1 to 0.9.3. Before upgrading I tried backup my data, I found that 0.6.1 does not have a data output so I checked file storage location, it was:
C:/Users/{username}/AppData/Roaming/io.appflowy/AppFlowy/data/{some numbers}
I created a backup folder for the {some numbers}. After that I uninstalled 0.6.1 and installed 0.9.3. In 0.9.3 I tried import data and select the backup folder, however the import failed.
Then I downgrade to 0.6.1, the import keeps failing.
I am using AppFlowy locally and individually so I startup with an anonymous session, does that matter when importing data? I wonder how to restore my backup data.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
@appflowy commented on GitHub (Jul 1, 2025):
@uoyniXnaH We’ve made significant changes, including changes to data structures. As a result, the import process may fail. If you need help recovering important data, I can assist—but I’ll need you to send the data to me.

@appflowy Thank you for your reply. Those local data contain lots of sensitive information, so I am afraid that I cannot share them with you (I will ask my leader if I could, but I guess it would be rather difficult). I wonder even if I downgraded AppFlowy to 0.6.1 (the original version I was using), why it failed to import those data. Was the folder with random numbers in the data folder is not for data backup? Or I just missed something?
