Bug Description

When trying to change the File Storage Location in the app settings, you can select your desired location, but when you click "Save", nothing happens. There are no error messages, no feedback, and the location remains unchanged in the default ".var" folder in the user's home directory. This occurs 100% of the time, even after app restarts and updates.

How to Reproduce

  1. Go to AppFlowy's settings
  2. Click on "Manage Data"
  3. Click on "Change Path" and select your new location
  4. Click the "Save" button
  5. Observe that nothing happens - no confirmation, no error message, no visual feedback
  6. Check that the storage location remains unchanged in the settings
  7. Restart the app and verify the location is still the default path

Expected Behavior

When clicking "Save", the storage location should be updated to the selected path, with either a confirmation message or visual indication that the change was saved. Files should then be stored in the new location, and the setting should persist after restarting the app.

Operating System

NixOS 25.05 (Warbler)

AppFlowy Version(s)

0.9.5 (Flatpak Release)

Additional Context

In the screenshot, the "Cloud" folder is a sync folder connected to my Filen.io cloud storage, which I use for personal backups. However, this issue is not specific to cloud sync folders. The same problem occurs when attempting to change the storage location to normal offline/local folders as well.

Note: I am using AppFlowy's built-in account sync feature to synchronize my data across devices, so this storage location issue is separate from the app's own cloud sync functionality.
