List view and quick freetext filter

Technically, I am bundling to separate feature requests here, but the synergy between them gives such a functional boost that they naturally belong together.

List view

Create a user interface where database grids can be compacted into a list view that fits neatly on narrow devices. Oftentimes, I find that the grid view continues on off to the right of my screen even with few columns in the table.

Quick freetext filter

Focus an input field and start typing. List items that do not match the entered string will be hidden from view. See screenshot below.

Impact

This is a rather fundamental feature for lists and grids, and would increase usability - especially on mobile devices - tremendously.
