Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/AppFlowy-IO/AppFlowy/issues/8210
When the AppFlowy Desktop app is running, it is requesting access to and using my windows location services. What is the reason the app is using the location services?
For further commentary, with all the mentions of "Privacy" on the website, and that your privacy policy doesn't mention location at all, this resource usage is fairly concerning.
@LucasXu0 commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2025):
Hi @Icanari, which version are you using? We should fix this in the latest version. It was due to third-party plugin requesting the location, but we didn't record or send your location data.

@Icanari commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2025):
Hi Lucas, good to hear that nothing was grabbed, I'm on Version 0.9.8 (Official Build), downloaded August 31st.
@LucasXu0 commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2025):
Thanks for the information. Let me double-check, and I can confirm that we removed the location permission code on Windows.
