I downloaded the latest app update, but when I logged into my account, I could no longer access the data that was on my device, even after switching to local mode. I really need this data; it's important to me. I hope there's a solution, noting that the data folder is still present in the path.

Hi @osamalzabidi, before I help you restore data, please back up your data folder first.

Here are a few questions that would help me restore your data quickly:

  1. Which version did you upgrade from?
  2. Where's your folder path stored locally?
  3. Were you using local mode or cloud mode?

Hi LucasXu0, Thanks for the reply

  1. version 0.10.3
  2. /home/user/.local/share/io.appflowy.appflowy/data_beta.appflowy.cloud/521468175619985408
  3. I was using local mode before I upgraded. After I upgraded, I signed in to Appflowy, and the data disappeared!

The cloud data and local data are separate, which means your cloud account won't have access to your local data.

You can try:

  1. Logging out of your cloud account.
  2. Clicking the anonymous mode button to sign in.

The folder that I mentioned in the red arrow is the one that contains my old document, but when I open the app, I get the second one.

You can try the following steps:

  1. First, back up this folder: data_beta.appflowy.cloud.
  2. Delete all the files in the folder 526...048.
  3. Copy all the files from the folder 521...408 and paste them into the folder 526...048.

If you want to access your local data, you can't sign in with your account. You can check my video and follow the steps to recover your data.

Update: After investigating the issue you have, I've found that the current recovery method doesn't work. I need to consider another solution and will keep you posted.
