I've read the documentation.

  • I'm running the latest version of the TubeArchivist Plex Integration Scanner and Agent. I have read the latest release notes and installation instructions.

Your Bug Report

Describe the bug

I cannot get Plex to display thumbnails in the episode video lists for any YouTube "show." When I click the edit icon on a given episode, the thumbnail selected by default is visible in the settings for that episode. Plex cannot display it other than in this settings modal.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. add a show to TubeArchivist
  2. add the Plex integration (agent and scanner)
  3. add a library to Plex where the videos are stored (with the TubeArchivist scanner/metadata types)
  4. allow Plex to scan the library and pull in shows/episodes

Plex will display show thumbnails in the list of shows, it will not display episode thumbnails in episode lists.

Expected behavior

Plex should show the thumbnail for each episode, since it was obviously collected and is partially accessible.

Interestingly, while typing this TA grabbed a short from this playlist and Plex has a thumbnail for it- no fuss. This is the first time I've ever seen a thumbnail from the pre-0.5.0 or 0.5.0 branches of TA (it's probably the first short I've downloaded too.)

Any updates on this? I am experiencing this issues and other people on reddit are also and this is providing a not-so good experience. IMO. My kid relies on the thumbnails to find episodes to watch easily

@lamusmaser I'm seeing this same behavior. Plex is able to fetch all of the data except the thumbnails it seems. When I edit the episode I see the available thumbnails but even selecting one and saving it does not change the episode preview.

Happy to provide whatever logs may be needed if you could just tell me which one to check / copy. Thank you!

@qskwood @Wh1t3Rose I've got a fix in #114 - not sure if @lamusmaser will merge it in, but if you make the same code changes on your end it should work.

Note that I had to use the API to remake the library to get plex to see the agent. It seems they've made some changes around agents in the UI.

Screenshot confirming it works! My kids are happy now.
